Help when practice gets interrupted

Deep Shadow support.

Most problems are fixed by reloading the YouTube tab after installation, starting the video once, and confirming that English captions are available.

Quick checks

  1. Use desktop Chrome 114 or later.
  2. Open a YouTube watch page with English subtitles or closed captions.
  3. Start the video once, then open the Deep Shadow side panel.
  4. If the extension was just installed or updated, reload the YouTube tab.
  5. Use headphones to prevent model audio from leaking into the microphone.

Microphone access

If access was denied, open Chrome’s microphone settings, remove Deep Shadow from the blocked list, return to the video, and choose Enable microphone again. Confirm that your operating system also allows Chrome to use the selected input device.

Captions or playback

If phrases do not load, verify that the video exposes an English caption track and reload the page. If playback is blocked, click the video once to satisfy Chrome’s media gesture requirement, then try again.

Report a problem

Use the public issue tracker. Include your Chrome version, operating system, the video URL, what you expected, and what happened. Never include private or sensitive information in a public report.

Deep Shadow has no account system and never receives microphone audio, caption text, URLs, or video details. If anonymous diagnostics are enabled, support may ask for the diagnostics ID shown in the panel. Support will never ask for a recording or password.
